Single Hand Chinese Dao - Budget Grade
The dao originates from China, being a broad umbrella term for any single edged sword. However, dao by itself generally refers to a one handed single edged sword usually for military use. A no frills, effective weapon that was historically easy to carry but nightmarishly deadly in the right hands. This dao embodies the practical nature of the dao without the hefty price tag. This model does have a pulled point of balance for safe sparring but still moves and feels like a dao should without a high concussion risk for your sparring partner.

The chang dao is a long two handed saber, used in Chinese and Korean systems. This budget version is designed to give an Asiatic feeling sword without breaking the bank. This model does have a pulled point of balance at 8cm compared to historic models at 15cm to be made safer for beginners to use so that they do not hit their sparring partners too hard. Once they build control to spar at full intensity safely they can choose to upgrade to a historically accurate POB sword, or this will continue to be an effective training tool for Asian styles.

Katana - Budget Grade
The katana is the sword of the samurai, but not every warrior has the samurai’s budget. This katana feels and moves like a premium sparring katana for a fraction of the price. It is fast in the cut with enough mass to dominate the centreline, but not so much that it feels sluggish. This is a fantastic sparring katana that could service you from the start of your Japanese swordsmanship journey all the way to becoming a master.

Jo Jang Do - Premium Grade
Coming soon. Keep your eyes peeled for something great.
Budget grade - these weapons are perfectly safe for sparring and have the same blade as the premium grade weapons but with none of the expensive touches. They are mill finished and then buffed to take off the sharp edges and have a wooden handle wrapped in electric tape to keep the cost down. If you want to make these swords nice for very little money, a little wet sanding, cord wrap and elbow grease will do the trick and save you hundreds of dollars.
Premium grade - these weapons are at the grade you would expect from other sparring weapon manufacturers like SIGI, Regenyei or Kvetun. They come with a polished blade and cord wrapped hilt.
Please note: all sparring swords are consumable items and will eventually break. Both the budget and premium grade should withstand just as much of a beating as any other brand’s swords, but no sparring sword will last forever. These are only intended to be used for historic fencing with appropriate safety equipment.
